The first incident occurred at 7.08pm with Fire and Rescue NSW crews called to a house on fire on Thomas Street.
"On arrival crews found the house well alight with intense heat and flames," firefighters said in a statement.
"Crews worked to try and cool surrounding gas bottles and douse as much of the flames as possible to protect neighbouring properties.

"The iron roof collapsed at Thomas Street which made firefighting operations difficult."
As crews were fighting this house fire, another triple-0 call was received for a house fire this time on Wentworth Street.
Crews from Forbes and Peak hill attended this blaze and found smoke and flames in the ceiling space, crews worked very quickly and kept damage to a minimum.
Parkes crews later returned to the Thomas Street property in the early hours of Friday morning to put out hot spots still smouldering in the property.
At this stage the cause of the two house fire is unknown.
More to come.
