'To the Moon and Back' art exhibition has been on display at the cafe on the corner of the Newell Highway and Medlyn Street since July 19 and it finishes tomorrow, August 3.
Parkes artist Leanne Wilson hosted 'To the Moon and Back' art workshops on June 22-23 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Parkes' role in the Apollo 11 moon landing mission.
The little artists prepared works for the exhibition, following a presentation from Central West Astronomical Society's Alex Abbey about Apollo 11.
The exhibition was opened on July 19, which saw the attendance of Parkes Mayor, Cr Ken Keith OAM, Cr Barbara Newton, Cr Bill Jayet and Parkes Shire Council Library and Cultural Services Manager Kerryn Jones, as well as the artists involved.
Young singer Hannah Dun provided the night's entertainment.
The workshops were supported by Create NSW's Country Arts Support Progam (CASP), a devolved funding program administered by Regional Arts NSW and Parkes Shire Council on behalf of the NSW Government.
