Under 16's
Brian Collins Smash Repairs Under 16's travelled to Dubbo to play against St Johns Dubbo last Saturday. With the numbers low for Parkes an injured Ben Herring sat on the bench running on giving those who needed a bit of a breather and supporting the defense line with some strong tackles.
The score board did not reflect the game.
Defence was strong with Jayden Pope, Jason Wright, Michael Riley, Ben Cooper and Tyson Richardson making some big hits wrapping the ball up and stopping Dubbo from making ground. A Parkes lost ball in the next set gave Dubbo possession. Zayne Eshman, Jai Thompson and James Parsons defended well with Tyler Yeo and Col Rauchle covering their side of the field resulting in Dubbo being held up. Another error from Parkes meant the boys had to defend again. Quick ball passing from Dubbo saw them in on the wing. Defense continued to be strong with Kyle Mawhinney and Jordan Pope holding Dubbo out. But continual attack from Dubbo saw them find a gap and score. Dubbo had the lead 12 nil. A Dubbo error from the kick off had Parkes attacking. The team worked well and were in good position but unfortunately a questionable forward pass saw Dubbo gain possession. Defence was strong and held them out. Parkes used the next set to their advantage with Toby Miller and Kyle Mawhinney making good ground, Ben Copper, like a little whippet was over the line. Michael Riley converted. Parkes were on the board. Dubbo split Parkes defence and scored. They scored again from an offloaded ball during a tackle. Parkes kept defending their line with some big hits. Will Tanswell made some quick runs to chase and keep Dubbo in their half but with a tired side, who had taken some big hits and no subs Dubbo were too strong scoring until the final bell. Dubbo 42 - Parkes 6.
We would like to thank Dubbo for making us feel so welcomed and their great sportsmanship at the end of the game.
