Police were forced to smash the window of a vehicle early on Wednesday morning after the driver refused to get out.

Officers were on routine patrol at 3.20am in Close Street when they observed a red Holden sedan take off from a residence at high speed. Police tried to stop the driver however the vehicle accelerated away harshly.
Fifteen minutes later officers saw the same vehicle on the Newell Highway and initiated a pursuit.
Ultimately police stopped the vehicle in Bushman Street and removed the driver who they will allege was driving under the influence of a drug.
He was arrested and charged with numerous driving matters including Skye's Law - Police Pursuit.
The 25-year-old Gilgandra man was refused police bail to appear in Parkes Local Court, where he was also refused bail to appear in Coonabarabran Local Court.
