When comparing some of the cities this Working Class Man will be visiting during his new national tour that begins in September, the small village of Tullamore in the Parkes Shire isn't his most obvious choice.
He'll be playing before crowds in locations with populations between 75,000 and 4.6 million people, and then there is Tullamore, a town of 400.
But the Aussie rock icon has a very special reason why he's included Tullamore on his tour schedule.
Jimmy just wants to pump some tourist dollars and positive energy into the small community that's crippled by severe drought.
He said the drought is one of the reasons why he, good mate Troy Cassar-Daley and The Daisy Dukes are heading out this way in November.
"We want to inject some tourist dollars into the area and we want to inject some positive energy," Barnesy told the Parkes Champion Post.
"We want to bring people from all around closer to the town.
"We're celebrating, we're celebrating Tullamore."
Barnesy's priority is to bring a great show to Pola Park on November 2 and having Troy there, he said, will be "even more special".
Tullamore is the only show in the schedule to include The Daisy Dukes and Troy - who wrote Jimmy's latest hit Shutting Down Our Town, of which the tour is named after.
"Troy is a dear friend of mine... He wanted to come, to help bring a few dollars into town," Barnesy said.
"Troy spends a lot of time in the country, more so than me, he knows what it's like.
"We want to show them (Tullamore) they're not alone and that the rest of the country is thinking of them.
"Droughts don't go away overnight - this show will be just a shot in the arm compared to the longer term effects of the drought.
"We have to look after each other.
"It will be an honour to play in Tullamore."
Being from a small town himself, Barnes understands the ongoing battle farmers, their families and communities face during tough times.
Shutting Down Our Town is about Barnes growing up in Elizabeth, South Australia and the closing down of the Holden factory where he once worked as a young boy in North Adelaide.
"We're looking at doing more things like this, bringing more to these towns," he said.
"I'm looking forward to playing Shutting Down Our Town at Tullamore, it will be great.
"Farmers are the hardest workers out there.
"We want everybody out there who is struggling to know they're not alone.
"Let's all have a party, together."
Jimmy Barnes breaks record for the most #1's in Aria chart history
Jimmy Barnes' new Australian and New Zealand tour, called Shutting Down Your Town, will see Barnesy playing all his classic hits from his acclaimed new album, My Criminal Record, released on May 31, plus some old favourites.
The rock legend has now secured a staggering sixteenth #1 album with My Criminal Record debuting at the top of the ARIA Album Charts.
After four with Cold Chisel and now 12 in his own right, Jimmy has had more number ones in this country than any other artist in ARIA Chart history.
My Criminal Record is actually his first collection of new original songs to hit #1 since Two Fires back in 1990.
