Members of the NSW Nurses and Midwives Association (NSWNMA) are calling for the Parkes community to stand with them as they rally in protest of the temporary closure of Parkes Hospital Maternity Unit.

NSWNMA representative Kris Smith said staff want to maintain services as they are.
"We would like lots of people to turn up and show their support - the community has to get behind us," she said.
"We need to keep a high profile and not let community involvement die down.
"It needs to be made very clear we won't stand for any downgrading of services."
The rally will be held on Friday at 12.30pm across the road from the Parkes Hospital.
"We've invited Member for Orange Phil Donato, Parkes Shire Council, Northparkes Mines, and other community organisations like Quota and the CWA," Kris said.
