Police stopped the woman, who was drivng a Ford Falcon, in Currajong Street at 2.25pm.
A roadside breath test returned a negative result, however a drug test returned a positive result for cannabis.
The woman was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station where a Drager test also returned a positive result for cannabis.
Her licence was suspended for 24 hours.
The car was defected due to tyres, front end damage and an unreadable number plate.
Police will await further results before action is taken on the drug driving matter.

A 35-year-old Parkes female tested positive for drug driving on Sunday afternoon.
Police stopped the woman in Clarinda Street at 3.55pm.
She returned a negative breath test result before a drug test returned a positive result for amphetamine.
The woman was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station where a Drager test also returned a positive result for amphetamine.
Her licence was suspended for 24 hours.
Police will await further results before any action is taken.

Police where involved in a pursuit on Saturday morning after the driver of a Mitsubishi Magna refused to stop when directed.
The driver accelerated away from Police at 8.30am on Morrissey Way.
The vehicle continued east through to Back Yamma Road, then onto other dirt roads.
Police terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.
Investigations are continuing.

A 52-year-old Parkes man will face court after been found in possesion of a knife on Thursday morning.
Police stopped and spoke to the man in Charles Rigg Avenue at 9.10am.
Officers located the knife after searching the man.
The knife was seized as he had no lawful reason to be carrying it.
He was issued a court attendence notice for possessing a knife in a public place.

Police stopped and spoke to the man as he was walking in High Street at 10.30am.
Officers searched the man and located cannabis on him.
The drugs were seized and he was issued a court attendance notice for possessing a prohibited drug.

Two illegal hunters were disturbed on a property on Bruie Plains Road near Trundle on Friday evening.
Police received the report shortly after 6pm and went to the property, however the hunters were gone.
Further investigations are continuing in an attempt to identify the vehicle.
