The Midstate Motorcycle Club will be holding their annual "Ironbark Dice Run", a charity ride for motorcyclists.
Club President, Mick Littlewood of Parkes explained: "The Dice Run, which is now in its 15th year, is purely a social day out for owners of road registered motorcycles and is aimed at raising money for a local charity while providing an interesting excuse to get out for a day's ride," he said.
"Last year's Dice Run attracted a large number of riders and raised $600 for "AmpCamp", a charity providing rehabilitation for amputees".
"After seeing an article in the Parkes Champion Post concerning two young local boys, Harry and Callum Rowbotham who are suffering from Cystic fibrosis, it was decided that this year's ride would support Cystic Fibrosis Community Care at Westmead Hospital," he said.
The ride, which this year will cover approximately 250 kilometres, attracts motorcyclists from towns as far away as Bathurst, Orange, Cowra and Dubbo.
Participants will ride from Parkes to Yeoval via Tomingley then on to lunch at the Molong RSL before finishing in Canowindra.
At stops along the way each motorcyclist rolls the dice and, at the end of the day, the highest combined score is declared the winner.
Registration starts at Kelly Reserve on the Newell Highway in Parkes at 9am where participants pay a registration fee and do their first two rolls of the Dice before embarking on the ride at 10am.
The ride is open anyone holding a current motorcycle licence and who has a registered motorcycle in a roadworthy condition. Cost of an entry is $20 per rider and $10 per pillion.
Tea and coffee will be available at the start provided by SES volunteers in the "Driver Reviver" facility.
