Saturday, April 13 saw six vehicles of different makes and models from the CWCC pick up 9 elderly gentlemen who currently call Rosedurnate home in Parkes.
The drive went around town for a short run past the new water treatment facility and to the top of Memorial Hill before a barbecue at Bushman's Dam hosted by the car club.
Alan MacDonald from the CWCC co-ordinated the day with staff from Rosedurnate and agreed that it was a great success.
"We had cars ranging from a 1928 Chev through to the 1980's and the men really loved it," Alan said.
They sometimes miss out on some of those blokes only activities so this was a real treat for them I think.
"The staff at Rosedurnate were really supportive of the idea and were a great help on the day ferrying a few more men and a bus load of walking frames to and fro in their own mini-bus."
The day was such a success that the car club is considering repeating it in the future.
There was great two-way communication between the club members and the elderly with many of the men reminiscing about cars they had owned in their youth and also sparking conversation about the new and the old about town.
The club holds meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at the Leagues Club at 7:30pm. Join them at 6:30 to 7pm for dinner.
