Saturday saw eight social bowlers take the green. Winners 17+14 Geoff Leonard and Allan Affleck. Runners up were 14+5 Tony Latter and George Greenhalgh.
Thursday Nite 6 turned up for a 18 all draw. This Thursday night social bowls 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
Wednesday 14 bowlers for two games of pairs and one game of triples. Winners were Tony Latter, Gene Rapp, and Allan Afleck winning 16+9, runners up John Corcoran (cousin ) and Greg Huggins 15+5.
Pennants results
- 5s won a very narrow game 54-53, 8-2. Flippy Fleinder lost 13-21, Luke Ramsay lost 17-19 and Steve Frame won 24-13 with his last bowl again giving railway a one shot advantage. Well done Steve your a champion.
- 6s won 64-60 , 8-2 also.Ben Mcnaughton lost 19-23, Kevin Hynds won 26-16 and Col Boehm lost 18-20.
- 7s lost 58-64 , 1-9 Terry Hetherington lost 19-23 , wally Grant lost 17-20 , and Tony Latter won 22-12 .
- So 5s are 1st on 38 points ,Condobilin on 31.5, and Parkes town on 24 .
- 6s Grenfell on 29, Eugowra on 29 and railway on 28 Thats very tight with one game to go .
- 7s Peak Hill on 21, Railway on 20 and Town on 9.and the 7s have the bye so thats it for the 7s for this year
This Weekend 5s are at home to Cowra for a 11am start. 6s go to Grenfell , good luck to our sides .
There will be a tournament played on Easter weekend Saturday, April 20 starting at 10am.
Format will be two bowl triples, four games of nine ends and a power play on one of your ends, and a feed at half time, so get your teams together.
Friday Night raffles, happy hour and badge and joker draw, so see you at the railway and bring your money with you .
Women's Bowls
Our members enjoyed a great day of bowls in perfect Autumn weather.
Our Pennant teams played against Forbes Club with many great bowling shots played.
Forbes proved too good for Parkes eventually winning on both rinks with the final score 25 to 50. Always a great time playing against Forbes!
Our teams will play against Canowindra on Thursday and the winner of the No4 Pennants will be decided on the day. Parkes needs to win both rinks.
In social games played Valmai Westcott, Maureen Baillee defeated Di Greenhalgh, Heather Harvey in a very close game.
Kay Craft, Chris Cox, Rosemary Mitchell defeated Frances Charlton, Maureen Miller, Lea Orr in another close game. A great day had by all.
There were five winners in our 100 club and the raffle was won by Annette Tisdall from Forbes, a very happy winner. Our winners on the day prize went to Maureen Baillee and Valmai Westcott.
The First Round of the Club Pairs commence with one game on the 9th April and all other games commence on the 16th April.
The Easter Trading Table is on 16th April with Easter and other items available to win. Members are asked to bring Easter Eggs or yummy Chocolates (Roses are my favourite) for the Raffles. Please bring next week so can be organised early.
This Sunday 7th April is the end of Daylight saving and we now will call in to play at a later time.
To play social bowls please ring table Selectors Brenda Davies and Di Howell between 9am and 9.30am (new end of daylight saving time). Social roster Di Howell.

On Tuesday, March 26 we played a Mitchell game and the north south winners were Keith Fiedler and Isabel Orange with 58 per cent.
Second were Warren Blatch and Laurie Keane 53 followed by Boyd and Lea McCabe 52.5.
For east west Val Worthington and Bev Laing topped with 57 per cent. Jenny Freeman and Nancye Blatch scored 55 and Margaret Hawken and Jill Peterson 53.5.
There were no big scores on Thursday 28 as the dealing machine has been creating hands with average points on all sides.
For the north south side Louise Payne and Peter Quin stayed on top with 55.42. Beth Thomas and Suzie McNamara had 54.58 followed by Helen McQuie and Ingrid Stephenson 49.17.
For east west there was a tie for first with 55.42 for John Quin and Margaret Hawken and Jenny Freeman and Anne Berkeley.
Peter Deardon and Steve Garriock were third with 51.67.
Keith Fiedler and Anne Berkeley were the winners on Monday, April 1 with a good score of 64 per cent. Gary Somers and Greig Ball followed with 62 and in third place were Suzie McNamara and Pam Mowtell 50 per cent.
On Tuesday, April 2 Suzie McNamara teamed with Jan Freeman to win the game with 59.52. In second spot were Laurie Keane and Val Worthington 51.79 and close behind were Anne Berkeley and Val Boyd 51.19.
Also scoring green points were Jenny Freeman and Fay Shaw in fourth place with 50.6.

Sunday, March 31, 2019 the Parkes Services Social Golfers pulled out their Woolies to play for the March Monthly Award with Putting and Trip Away combined. The fairly tame results definitely reflected on the very cold morning.
Ladies Medal Winner was Lyn Davison with 69 nett from Margaret Hogan on 71 nett.
Lyn Davison also won the Scratch on a C/B from Margaret Hogan.
Ladies Nearest the Pin Winners fourth Suzanne Smith, 11th Lyn Davison.
Men's Medal Winner was KAP with 69 nett from Ray Cabban with 70 nett.
Men's Scratch Winner was Robert Hey with 73 off the stick.
Men's Nearest the Pin Winners fourth and sixth Matt Wright. 11th and 15th. Robert Hey.
Raffle winner was yours truly with Golf Balls going to Ray Cabban and KAP winning the last two.
Lucky Card Draw won by Chris Goodie. Bunny Award won by Sue Smith.
Apparently working all night and turning up early for Golf worked wonders for Phil Bishop winning the Putting Competition with just 25 Putts.
No Golf for us next Sunday but feel free to play in The Rotary Charity Day for a very good cause.
Our next game on April 14 we will play a Team Event for Rodney Luyt and Tom Delmenico Trophies and Raffle supplied by Mick Smith if anyone can find him. Go the Dragons.

Junior Netball
Saturday, April 6 Round 1. Welcome back to netball.
It was great to see so many new and familiar faces at our gala day. Both young and the young at heart, had a great morning learning and refining their netball skills.
We would like to welcome and congratulate Niki Guy and Maree Harbidge as our new Saturday junior morning coordinators. Both ladies will be down at the courts each week running our junior competitions, so if you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact them.
The committee have been busy organising teams and grading player to ensure teams are even in strength and playing positions. We have tried to keep players with their nominated friends where possible.
Please note that teams are subject to change and the committee will be looking at all teams over the next two weeks and regrading/shuffling players amongst teams where necessary during the school holiday break.
If all players could arrive 15-20min before the start of their games to meet their teams, coaches and warm up before the commencement of games. Uniforms are black skirts/shorts and white shirts.

The Wellington Boot
It has become one of the biggest and most popular country race meetings this side of the great divide, drawing in visitors from all over to enjoy a spectacular day of country racing.
A number of races are held over the two great days, but is the iconic State Wide Sheds Wellington Boot Race which really captures the crowd's attention.
The exciting open two-year-old race is held over 1100 metres with a whopping $150,000 in prize money. The Boot Race runs on the Sunday and is the feature race of the weekend.
There is something for everyone across this fantastic weekend - if you're not one for punting, there's plenty to keep you interested off the track!
The always popular Fashions on the Field Competition, with excellent prize money available for the best dressed on the Sunday. For the truly lucky or skilled punter there is the Pick the Program Competition.
Feel free to bring the kids along for a great family day out, there will be a jumping castle and face painting just for them all day.
Wellington Boot carnival is on this Saturday and Sunday followed by Grenfell Picnics on Saturday, April 13.
nd there will be plenty to see out and about in town across the weekend with the Rotary Markets in Cameron Park on the Saturday, the reinvigorated Best Store Window Display and first annual Best Decorated Marquee on the Day Competitions. Contact the Race Club on 0458 452 611 for more details.
