"There is no way that this tournament would be viable without the fabulous support from Westlime. They have been unbelievable in their commitment to this great day and to the ideals of Rotary," Parkes Rotary Club President Jenny Jewell said.
Many other local businesses have also been great supporters and have been responsible for Parkes Rotary Club being able to support many local and International projects especially the End Polio Now campaign.
Some of the beneficiaries of the proceeds of this special day have been Australian PhD students researching various diseases and maladies at universities in NSW and Victoria. These include Parkinson's disease, spinal health, mental health etc. Support for indigenous doctors has also been part of the program with two now having graduated.
"Our club also supports many of Rotary's local youth programmes including Rotary Youth Leadership Awards for young people aged 18 to 28 years, Rotary Youth Program for Enrichment for youngsters in primary school and several others. This year members of the club have also been involved with a great program at the PCYC," Jenny said.
The tournament is a three person Ambrose with a shotgun start at 10am. It's a great fun day with great prizes. Cost is $90 per team and this includes lunch at the 18th and the half-way house and mobile refreshments will be available for most of the day.
This is a day not to be missed and both women and junior players are encouraged to enter. The course is in its usual immaculate condition so get a team together and enter now. Teams from neighbouring towns will be made most welcome and entry forms are available from Parkes Golf Club and The Coffee Pot in Clarinda Street.
