A great day of bowling was enjoyed by our members this week. The Final of the Club Championship Singles was played with our Champion, Maree Grant, winning against Cherie Frame. Cherie leading in the first half but Maree coming home strongly to win.

In a Pennants practice game Gwenda Carty, Kim Evans, Brenda Davies, Liz Byrne won by one point against Jam McPhee, Lorraine Baker, Robyn Morgan, Rhona Went.
The teams play against Forbes this week. We wish them good luck. Valmai Westcott, Rosemary Mitchell def Kate Keogh, Hilda McPherson in a Pairs game. Isabel Svendsen, Joan Simpson def Frances Charlton, Lee Orr in a Pairs game.
Eileen Bradley, Heather Harvey, Carol Reed def Kay Craft, Di Howell in a game of Triples. Winners for the day Gwenda, Kim, Brenda, Liz. The raffle prize, a Thai Massage, was won by Liz. A successful Trading Table was held with lots of happy winners.

Hello bowlers another busy week of bowls Major singles Matt McGrath defeating Lee Hetherington 31/28 in a very high quality match with the scores locked up to 28 all. Ray Griffth played Terry Clothier in another entertaining match with Ray winning 31/21. Minor singles saw Shane Hodge defeat Terry Hetherington 31/27.
Major pairs we had Steve Frame and Mick Furney play Gary Phillips and Pig Phillips .Steve being the deciding factor winning 18/15.
Saturday social we had ten players, winners Kevin Hynds Geoff Leonard and Allan Curteis w8+2 on the 14 end due to inclement weather.
Wednesday chicken had eight bowlers and unusually on a draw Chris Dunn, Col Hornery Defeated Allan Affleck and Allan Curteis w16+4. Runner up Bobby Freeman and Col Boehm w14+1.Jackpot was not won.
We had four teams go to Manildra for their two day event with all reporting a awesome time. Look to this space for the Carty /Price sheild to be played shortly after pennants at our house.
Speaking of pennants the 5s went to Cowra for a 10/0 result .75/39. Flippy Fleidner team winning 28/12,Luke Ramsay winning 20/17 and Steve Frames side winning 27/9 well done the fives that's three in a row.
The 7s were at home against Grenfell loosing 1/9 . Ben Mcnaughton winning 20/13, Kevin Hynds lost 13/27 and Col Boehm lost 16/24.
This week fives go to Condobilin, we have a bus leaving at 9.15am for a 11 am start at condo .Be sharp and get on the bus.

Bridge
We had a strong eight table field last Thursday, March 14. On the north south side the usual winners Peter Quin and Louise Payne once more came out on top with a score of 67.31.
Bev Laing and Isabel Orange were second with 55.9 closely followed by Peter Dearden and Kevin Robinson 55.06. Taking fourth place were Gai and Tim Baker 48.41.
For the east west side Jenny Freeman and Anne Berkeley were first with 56.8 followed by Dawn Phipps and Vicki Burke 55.75. Suzie McNamara and Beth Thomas came third with 54.12 and Stephen Garriock and Beryl Twardy scored 52.73.
In a very even field on Monday night March 18, Warren and Nancy Blatch topped with 57.29. Bev Laing and Anne Berkeley scored 56.25 and there was a tie for third with 52.08 for Tim and Gai Baker and Keith Fiedler and Beryl Twardy.
We played a five table Mitchell movement on Tuesday, March 18. For north south Keith Fiedler and Isabel Orange blitzed the field with 67.5. There was a tie for second on 49 per cent for Suzie McNamara and Robyn Morrissey and Kevin Robinson and Lee McCabe.
For east west Val Worthington and Greig Ball were first with 60.5 followed by Marlene Freeman and Fay Shaw 50 per cent and in third spot were Peter Dearden and Nancye Blatch 49 per cent.

Sunday, March 17 the Parkes Services Social Golfers played a 4BBB. Event for Phil Smith and Richard Wells (Our Heavyweights) Trophies. Raffle supplied by Robert Rea.
Winner on the day was the pairing of another couple of Heavyweights in Rodney Luyt and Kap Palenapa-Pili with 48 Points.
Runner ups on a countback were Phil Smith & Rodney Luyt on 43 Points from Len Archer & Robert Rea. Obviously for Rodney winning both Trophies he must have been a Swinger. (He is sweet enough).
Ladies Nearest the Pin Winners fourth and sixth holes won by Lyn Davison and 11th Margaret Hogan. Men's Nearest the Pin Winners fourth and 11th holes won by Phil Wennerbom with a Birdie on the 11th, 15th went to Robert Hey.
Lucky Card Winners Phil Smith and Richard Wells. Bunny Award won by Brian Hogan and Ray Cabban. Raffle Winner was Chris Goodie with Golf Balls going to Len Archer, Richard Wells and Bill Warren.
Ladies Summer Competition Winner. Suzanne Smith. Men's Summer Competition Winner. Phil Smith. No Golf for us next Sunday but you are welcome to play in the Footballers Day.
Next Event will be the March 31 Stroke Monthly Award with Putting Comp, Trip Away Award played in conjunction. Ian Phipps to supply Raffle with the Parkes Services Club supplying all Trophies. Go the Dragons.

Last Sunday we saw 14 shooters attend the Deep Lead shooting complex. They shot at ordinary targets at both 25 and 50 meters. For maximum of 500 points.

Four shot for practice to make up their four shoots before the end of this month. Our next shoot is at 10am Sunday, March 24 and again will be ordinary targets at both ranges. One of our members has just purchased a second hand rifle and after shooting his 25 meter target, complained that he could not hear the clicks on adjusting his scope only to discover that he had not removed the protecting covers. To protect his identity he is known as Popeye, he has been given heaps by the rest of us.
