Enough money has been donated to have the areas of the most immediate concern addressed.
Reverend Ron Spindler said the congregation has been very generous in getting the repairs off and running.
"Donations have come in on the plate and through the office, they have been amazing," he said.
Local tradesman Andy Umbers has completed work on the steps to the south entry of the church and the path leading up to the rectory and around to Sadie's Walk.
Revered Spindler said more than enough was donated to get the initial repairs completed.
"We have some left over to go towards the work that needs to be done inside the church which we will start when we have enough," he said.
"We'll fix the termite damage so there are no more danger tags around."
Reverend Spindler said the parish council intends to set up a program from which money can be set aside so it's not coming off the plate all the time.
"The plan is to reach out to the wider community this year," he said.
"We have been running the Alpha course, a course that explores life and the Christian faith, on Thursday nights and that's been very well received."

Another area of concern is the roof leaking in several areas and letting water into the building.
