Member for Orange Phil Donato was in Parkes on March 8 to announce the funding for the PCYC, which will come through the 2018 Community Building Partnership Program.
"I am pleased to announce that PCYC Parkes has received $28,050 in funding," Mr Donato said.
"This funding will go towards renovation of the foyer to ensure it complies with current workplace safety regulations.
"The PCYC team is also modernising the space to give it a more 'youth friendly' feel."
The upgrades will include new flooring in the foyer and down the hallway, new offices and reception desk.
"The wall in the reception area will be knocked down and moved three metres back, where we will put in new officers," Parkes PCYC manager Tim Watts said.
A reception desk will replace the former wall.
"The building here in Parkes was taken over roughly in the late 70s and unfortunately a lot of it is the original building including the reception," Tim said.
"This year we've got some huge growth potential in the club - we've got over 200 kids on our waiting list for gymnastics alone, we've picked up extra programs in the NSW Police Commissioner's Rise Up Strategy and we've got a tonne of kids going through our space.
"Going from a piece of glass and a brick wall to an actual reception and foyer space, it means we're going to have a lot better user experience for our kids, we're going to have much better control over our facilities and kids are actually going to want to be here.
"It means we're going to be able to handle the amount of kids who come through here and safely, because we'll be able to see them better."
Tim is expecting work to begin within the next three to six months.
The Parkes PCYC currently has 800 members and its space is estimated to be the second biggest in Western NSW and the sixth largest in the state.
Tim is looking forward to a refreshed and more modern look and thanked Mr Donato for the support.
"I'm proud to have supported this application for funding. The PCYC is a fantastic place for young people to learn new skills, get fit and make new friends in the process," Mr Donato said.
"The PCYC really is a vital part of the community."
