Unknown persons forced entry through a door into a residence in Lawson Street, Parkes between 8.30pm on Saturday and 12.30am Sunday.
The offender stole keys to a white Toyota Hilux ute parked in the driveway, as well as a TV and wallet.
The ute was later located in Saleyards Road at 12.15pm on Sunday after the owner posted a photo of the stolen vehicle on Facebook and received information of its whereabouts.
There was no damage to the ute but a whipper snipper had been stolen from the rear.

A 27-year-old Parkes man has been arrested for an outstanding warrant and for having knives in a public place.
Police were aware the man had an outstanding warrant for domestic violence offences and was arrested in a Parkes supermarket at 4.25pm on Friday.
The man was searched, during which officers found and seized two knives.
He was conveyed to Parkes Police Station where he was charged and refused bail.
He will appear in Parkes Local Court on March 18.

A 23-year-old Parkes woman has been charged with driving while disqualified after police spotted her riding a motorcycle in Back Yamma Road on February 12.
She will appear in Parkes Local Court on May 16.

A car parked in a rear lane off Welcome Street was damaged over the weekend.
The vehicle was parked in the lane from 9pm Saturday and when its owner returned at 9am Sunday, they discovered a window smashed and scratches on the car.
The damage is estimated at $500.

Up to $250 worth of damage was caused to a Parkes education premises in Bushman Street last week.
Between 5pm Friday and 8.40am on Monday, unknown persons have smashed a window of a store room/garage at the location.

There was a break and enter into an unoccupied premises in Armstrong Street between February 22 and March 8.
Individuals entered the location by kicking the rear door off its hinges. A metal window screen was also damaged.
Police said nothing appears to be missing at this stage and investigations are continuing.

Parkes Police are reviewing CCTV footage after a man exited a Parkes supermarket without paying for a number of items.
The man is described between 35 years and 45 years old of Caucasian appearance, balding, tall and of a thin build, was wearing a yellow and green high-vis shirt and three quarter bone coloured shorts, and was barefoot.
He entered Parkes Woolworths on Saturday night, exiting through the self serve checkouts at 8.40pm without paying for a number of drinks.
Police enquiries are continuing.

A driver has failed to pay for $93 worth of fuel at a Parkes service station on Sunday.
The incident occurred at 11.50am.
Police a reviewing CCTV footage and investigations are continuing.
