Ladies Bowls
There were 24 bowlers enjoying beautiful conditions this week and having lots of fun. A big welcome back to members who have been away travelling and those waiting for cooler conditions. In triples games played Kay Craft, Marja Iffland, Liz Byrne defeated Di Greenhalgh, Valmai Westcott, Brenda Davies.

Lea Orr, Maureen Miller, Joan Simpson defeated Margaret Hawken, Merilyn Rodgers, Robyn Morgan. Carol Reed, Rosemary Mitchell, Jan McPhee defeated Chris Cox, Di Howell, Lorraine Baker. Chris Curteis, Kate Keogh, Maureen Baillee def Eileen Bradley, Hilda McPherson, Rhona Went.

In the CWD Singles played at Cowra this week our members were unsuccessful but Kim Evans got through to the second round whilst both Maree Grant and Liz Byrne were only defeated on their final ends with the scores being level. Thanks to our players and markers from our club who helped make a great day.
The Final of the Club Championship Singles will be played on 19th March between Cherie Frame and Maree Grant. This will be a great game to watch! The Club Championship Pairs close 12pm on the 19th March, put a team in and enjoy the competition.
Our Pennants games commence on Thursday 21st playing against Forbes. The Pennant teams are Gwenda Carty, Kim Evans, Brenda Davies, Liz Byrne. Jan McPhee, Lorraine Baker, Robyn Morgan, Rhona Went. Good luck to our players.

Railway Bowls
Hello bowlers, well a pretty big week was had. Saturday, March 9 saw six social bowlers take the green with Kevin Hynds, George Greenhalgh and Lisa Johnson defeating Brett Byrnes (condo), Alan Curteis and John Monti 22/16.
Championship bowls ,Peter job won 31/23 over Dave Willcockson. Dave lead early bit peter came home too strong.Tony Peisley won 31/24 over Graham Cole.
In the pairs Ben Mcnaughton and Paul Keogh won 22/19 in a hard fought game against Shane Hodge and Rodney Pritchard .Luke Cross and Marty Fitzpatrick (sub)defeated Lea Tanks and Steve Nicolson 25/19.
On Monday Matty Mcgrath and Juicy Daley Defeated Dave Law and Dave Willcockson 37/14. Wednesday we had another major singles match with Col Boehm and Ben Mcnaughton playing a mammoth 40 ends In a quality game worthy of a final.
Ben winning 31/26. Chicken run we had 16 bowlers. Winners were Billy Searl and Greg Huggins W17+15, runners up Chris Dunn and Mike Parkes. W17+5.margins were 5,6,6,15 and 15 came out shared with Col Hornery andDave Jones (eugowra). Jackpot for next week is $172.
Pennant last Sunday, March 10 the 5s beat Parkes town 71-40,9-1. Flippys team won 27-12 over Col Mudie, Luke Ramsay lost 16-19 to Dave Johnson and Steve Frame defeated Gary Mcphee 28-9. In the 6s we beat Condobilin 63-41,9-1. Juicy Daley won 22-19, Kevin Hynds won 22-9and Col Boehm lost 12-13.
The 7s played Parkes town and won 10-0,Terry Hetherington won 15-14 over Ron Hornery, Wally Grany Won 26-15 over Gordon Dickson and Tony Latter won 27-17 over John Carr. Well done all three grades keep it up.
This week the fives go to Cowra with all sides unchanged, Cowra want to start at 11am so get your travel arrangements sorted.
The 6s are at home to Grenfell .Pav Cross, Mike Valentine, Terry Hetherington, Ben Mcnaughton. Allan Cameron, Graham Turner, Tony Peisley, Kevin Hynds. Mark Francis,Graham Cole, Gene Rapp, Col Boehm. The usual raffles are on again this Friday night so be there. Power Pairs are on again Thursday night 5.30pm for a 6pm start . See you at the railway
Bridge
March began well with good fields on each playing day. We hope more of the beginners will start coming regularly. On Monday March 4 there was a tie for first on 59.52 between Robyn Sheridan and Wendy Andrews and Bev Laing and Anne Berkeley. Tim and Gai Baker were second 54.76 followed by Keith Fiedler and Barbara Hughes 52.38.
Suzie McNamara and Kevin Robinson came first on Tuesday 5th with a good score of 67.36. Second were Bev Laing and Jan Freeman 59.72 and equal third on 56.94 were Keith Fiedler, Greig Ball, Margaret Hawken and Jenny Freeman.
As usual the Thursday, March 7 game was a Mitchell movement with the north south winners being Louise Payne and Peter Quin 67.45. Second were Keith Fiedler and Greig Ball 65.10 followed by Dawn Phipps and Helen Hall 50.26 who were only a fraction ahead of Wendy Andrews and Robyn Sheridan 50 per cent. For the east west side Val Worthington and Helen McQuie topped with 59.52.
Jenny Freeman and Anne Berkeley were second on 53.87 and third were Suzie McNamara and Pam Mowtell 52.98 followed by Margaret Hawken and John Quin 51.49. Tim and Gai Baker were top scorers on Monday 11th with 62.58. Keith Fiedler and Greig Ball had 57.29 and Jennifer Calvert and Dawn Phipps 54.17. Winners on Tuesday 12th were Kevin Robinson and Jan Freeman 67.86. Nancye Blatch and Isabel Orange scored 60.12 and in third spot were Val Worthington and Keith Fiedler 55.36 followed by Bev Laing and Beth Symington 53.57.
Parkes SSAA Sporting Clay
At last months shoot 14 shooters attended the Deep Lead shooting complex and shot in a 80 target day with two events.
Event one: Sixty targets known rise, using six auto clay throwers set at various angles and speeds. Greg Buckle 59, Brian Drabsch 57, David Tanks 55, Clinton Duffy and Brett Dean 51, Ron Spedding 50, Adrian Hodges 49, David Penberthy 48, Ben Smith and Steve Fryer 47, Colin Smith 42, Ron Farrell 35, Jeff Hall 25 for 30 only.
Event two: Twenty target twin rise with one outwards and one inwards at the same time. Ron Farrell 18, Ron Spedding, Steven Fryer and David Tanks 17 each, Brian Drabsch, Brett Dean and Jeff Hall 16 each, Greg Buckle 15, Clinton Duffy 13, David Penberthy, Colin Smith and Adrian Hodges 12 each, Ben Smith 10.
Out next shoot is at 1pm Saturday, March 16 and will be similar to the above.
Parkes SSAA Smallbore
Last weekend we saw eight shooters attend the Deep Lead shooting complex. They shot at ordinary targets at both 25 and 50 meters for a maximum of 500 points. This match was shot under very strong westerly winds changing from north west to south west without any warning, making shooting very hard at times.
Target Rifles: Brian Drabsch 249, 247, 496, Craig Gibbson 246, 247, 493, David Wilson 249, 241, 490.
Field Rifles: John Smeaton 244, 240, 484. Ron Cunningham 243, 240, 483. Glenn Pepper 244 for 25 meters only.
Two shots for practice only. Our next shoot is at 10am Sunday, March 17 and will again be ordinary targets at both ranges. After March 31 we will return to animal targets each second week and these double as a hunting target.
