Donna Payne has been named president, with Kim Horan as secretary and Lyn Griffith treasurer.
The Friends of the Parkes Hospital is a small active group committed to supporting the Lachlan Health Service Parkes Hospital.
Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of every month upstairs at the Parkes Hospital.
New members are always welcome.
The group was formed in 2013.
Since its inception, the group has purchased equipment including a bariatric mattress, uterine manipulator for use in the hospital's theatre, iPod docks for the maternity ward and physio equipment.
The groups has also purchased air mattresses, camera monitors, baby weighing scales and a television for the ADL patient lounge.
The group aims to support local programs and initiatives, as well as its staff involved.
Friends of Parkes Hospital has provided support to the McGrath Breast Care Nurse, home visiting midwives and community nurses.
The group is currently working towards establishing a palliative care room at Parkes Hospital and preparing to host the upcoming Zone Day for Central West branches on Tuesday, March 12.
Their fundraising efforts includes raffles and cake stalls, and the group regularly submits grant applications for specific items.
