The annual kite event returns this Australia Day and is open to the entire Parkes Shire community.
The event will run from 8am until 11am and is at no charge.
All we ask for is just your Australia Day smile.

“This is a free event, all we ask for is just your Australia Day smile,” organiser Peter Guppy said.
Peter has also asked members of the community to keep this Friday, January 25 free for the official opening of the annual Australian Art Exhibition at the Coventry Room.
The opening begins at 7pm and costs $15 per person, which includes supper and wine tasting.
The exhibition will feature art from local students and artists, as well as those from Orange, Dubbo, Narromine, Grenfell and the wider western district.
Parkes’ Australia Day ambassador Allan Sparkes CV, OAM, VA will open the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to the public for four days following the opening.
