First time Parkes Elvis Festival attendees Pam Plant, Carol Chay and Christine Gallenti are in town from their home in Benalla in Victoria.
They are among the many Elvis fans who have pitched a tent in the Parkes Showground.
Unfortunately for them, they left the windows on their tent open before they headed into town to take in the action on Thursday morning.
When the wild weather struck that afternoon it flooded their tent and left their belongings sodden.
“We raced back to the park and when we got there our neighbour was helping us, she was unplugging our power because of all the water in there,” Ms Chay said.
“She’d put all our beds and everything she could find into a dry part of the tent.
“There was about two inches (five centimetres) of water inside our tent.”
Next to help the sodden trio from Victoria were showground volunteers Bob, Kay and Liz.
“They organised beds inside one of the pavilions for us,” Ms Chay said.
“We had to hang out our sheets and pillows [to dry] on their trailer.
“We had to pack up our tent and move all the stuff into the pavilion.”

Ms Gallenti has thanked not only their camping neighbours Patty and Tammy, who are in Parkes from their home in Queanbeyan, but also the showground volunteers.
“You’ve got no idea how grateful we are,” she said.
“Without them we would have had to get in the car and go driving out of town to try and find somewhere to stay.”
While Ms Chay said: “We just wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of the volunteers.”
