Since then, the troupe has grown to 17 children from six to 16 years of age and now there is a senior and junior Boppers’ troupe.
The girls and boys get together at the end of November for rehearsals for the upcoming festival, which this year runs from January 9 until January 13.
Dance routines are now choreographed by a member of the Boppers, Gracey Denham Jones.

Maureen Massey, the organiser, is extremely proud of the commitment made by each member of the Boppers’ troupe.
This year the Parkes Boppers will be performing every day at the Parkes Leagues Club and will be taking part in the Rock and Roll and Showcase dance competitions that are held annually in Cooke Park on the Saturday of the festival.
The Boppers will also take time to visit and entertain the residents of BaptistCare Niola aged care facility, along with taking part in other activities during the Elvis Festival.
The dancers are looking forward to another fun year, entertaining and bringing smiles to the thousands of visitors that descend on Parkes for one of the best festivals in the state.
