One of the nation's most popular breakfast television programs, Sunrise, is heading to the Central West to broadcast live from the 2019 Parkes Elvis Festival.

The festival officially kicks off on Wednesday and Sunrise weather presenter, Sam Mac, and his crew will be in Cooke Park the morning of Thursday, January 10.
Festival director, Cathy Treasure, is urging Parkes residents to get involved.
“We'd love to have as many passionate Parkes locals to head down to Cooke Park from 7am on the 10th,” she said.
“It's a great chance for us to showcase not only the festival but Parkes as a destination to an Australian-wide audience.”

The Sunrise weather crosses will start at 5.30am, with the last cross for the day to be held at 8.30am.
The last time the Channel 7 program was in Parkes was in July 2015 when then weather presenter Edwina Bartholomew delivered a series of live crosses from the Dish as part of Sunrise’s ‘Lap of the Map’ adventure.
Shire residents were out in force to welcome “Eddie” and her crew - some arriving, with posters in tow, well before daylight and in zero degree temperatures.
