At their November meeting, members unveiled four new LASPN banners to be placed around the district.
The banners state “Suicide Prevention is everybody’s business” and then also give the important contact numbers for the NSW Mental Health Line 1800 011 511, Lifeline 13 11 14, and The Suicide Call Back Line 1300 659 467. Keep your eyes open for the banners which are currently at Parkes Hospital, Forbes Hospital, Tottenham Hospital MPS and on the highway at Peak Hill, and will move around from time to time.
The LASPN would like to share a few hints on how to take the stress out of Christmas:
- Limit the cost of spending
- Contact People who are away by phone, skype etc
- Practice gratitude for those who love you
- Remember your presence is a present.
LASPN’s “Feeling Blue at Christmas?” banner is in the window at Flourish Australia in Clarinda Street and also displays important phone numbers.
If you are feeling down or blue during the festive season, or at any other time, there is always someone to take your call at the numbers above as well as the Men’s Health Line 1300 789 978.
