Their latest is this 1970 XW Ford GT replica which they've owned for about two years now.
"We bought the car in Bungendore from the nephew of the fella who did it up so we don't know a real lot of the history of it" said Ian.
"We know that it started life as a basic six cylinder XW and in the process of the mock up it's ended up with features from a range of models - the car is XW with GT stripes but the bonnet and shaker are XY and the colour, Yellow Glow, is from the later XA GT."
Ian told me his GT has a 351 Cleveland V8 with a four speed manual Top Loader gearbox and nine inch diff.
It initially came with a set of original style Bathurst Globe mags but Ian decided on 15 inch Convo Pro's to give the car a tougher stance.
With a couple of other cars in the stable at home, Ian and Tracey have to make the effort to get the GT out, but when you've got something this good, it's hardly a chore.
"I've always liked the shape and style of these cars" said Ian "and now that we've got one I try to get it out at least once a month for either Tracey or myself to take it for a spin. We try to get to a few of the local shows when we can too."
Ian is on the organising committee for the Forbes Motor Show held on the October long weekend by the lake in Forbes.
"It's been running for about eight years now and for a group of volunteers without our own car club I like to think we host a pretty good show" Ian said.
Ian and Tracey are also members of the Parkes based Central West Car Club which has members predominantly in Parkes and Forbes but also from surrounding areas.
The club meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the Parkes Leagues Club at 7:30 for anybody who is interested. Visit www.centralwestcarclub.com.
