A WARNING has been issued for severe thunderstorms in Parkes and a large part of western NSW for Tuesday afternoon.

At 9.45am on Tuesday the Bureau of Meteorology published a graphic which showed Parkes categorised as ‘severe thunderstorms likely’.
According to www.weatherzone.com.au, if the storms do arrive it will likely be later in the day.
“High chance of showers and the chance of a thunderstorm, most likely this afternoon and evening,” the website’s daily forecast predicted.
The good news is that the likely wild conditions may bring some rain, with a 60 per cent chance of between five and 10 millimetres forecast.
There is also possible showers predicted on Wednesday in Parkes, with an 80 per cent chance of rain between five and 10 millimetres.
Other parts of the Central West, including Dubbo and Forbes, were also categorised as ‘severe thunderstorms likely’ for Tuesday’s weather events, while Orange was categorised as ‘severe thunderstorms possible’.
