Just over 100 people attended the Parkes RSL Sub Branch’s special dinner on Saturday night, on the eve of Remembrance Day, to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War 1.

The night, held upstairs at the Parkes Services Club, was filled with laughs, entertainment and speeches from special guests.
Local stock and station agent Geoff Rice was honoured to MC the evening, which featured entertainment from Australian comedian Robert Shehadie and live music by Parkes entertainer Barry Green.
National Party Senator John “Wacka” Williams, Parkes mayor Cr Ken Keith OAM and a number of Parkes school captains were among the special guests present.
