You just had to be at the luncheon hosted by the Services Club and Parkes Quota.
There were so many beautifully dressed ladies, and a couple of brave gentlemen, who enjoyed a delicious feast and had a great time.
Prizes were awarded for the best dressed lady and the lady with the best hat.
The finalists were selected by a couple of Quota judges and everyone then had a vote to pick the winners who were Desiree Rivera and Ingrid Stevenson.
The Club generously donated all the prizes for the raffles and the lucky door, with all the raffle proceeds going to Quota to help our work in the community.
One of our current projects is to supply the police with emergency kits.
We make washbags and fill them with items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, combs, and soap etc for women fleeing violent partners and with nothing but the clothes they are wearing when they arrive at the station, and they are greatly appreciated.
And of course there were sweeps, so watching the race on the huge TV screen was most exciting as everyone cheered on their horses.
Quota thanks all the visitors who joined us to make this such a successful and happy day, as well as the Services Club for their generosity.
We wish you all a very happy Christmas and hope to see many of you at our International Women’s Day Luncheon on March 10 next year.
