During the beautiful service run by the Parkes RSL Sub Branch, captains from schools in Parkes, as well as those from Red Bend Catholic College, read the names of those who gave their life during the Great War.
Middleton Public School choir also sang and a wreath-laying ceremony was also conducted.
At the conclusion of the service, Sub Branch president Terry Knowles and Parkes Mayor Ken Keith OAM unveiled a plaque to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War I.
The plaque will be installed at the Parkes cenotaph in Cooke Park at a later date.
