The exhibition contains a possum-skin blanket inscribed with stories of the Wiradjuri people, kangaroo skins incised with Wiradjuri symbols and intricately woven headdresses and belts made from native grasses and the feathers of native birds.
Traditional skills passed down from one generation to the next have enabled the women to develop these significant cultural practices and art works.
Lynette and Diane are inviting the community to the opening night of the exhibition at 6pm, this Saturday, November 3.
The cost is $20 and includes drinks and finger food.
Funds raised will support the Rotary Australia project directed towards Indigenous people of central Australia – End Trachoma by 2020.
To assist with catering, please RSVP to Ken Engsmyr on 0418 246 662 or email ken.engsmyr@bigpond.com
