August featured artists Bob Gregory and Kate Daniel performed a wonderful set of Australian Ballads and instrumentals which was well received by the audience.
They have recently released a CD Album titled “Along the Track”, which also features Nev Malloy from Forbes.
We are hoping to see and hear a lot more from them as they’ve just moved into the area.
Others performers on the day were Garry Hemming; Bruce Toole from Forbes, Ken Chalker, Joy Rice from Cowra, Lindy Chalrton, Jock Charlton, Dale Cowell and Cynthia Jones from Parkes, Barry Joseph, Gary Hollier and Joe Reeves from Dubbo. Taking on backing band duties were Bob Gregory, Joe Reeves, Ken Chalker, Kevin Endacott, Gary Hollier and Lindy Chalton.
At our September muster, featured artist was Matthew Hollier from Dubbo.
Matthew is well known as a musician and vocalist. Members and guests were treated to a bracket of John Denver songs by Matthew who was joined by his father, Gary Hollier a staunch supporter of our club.
It brought back memories of the days when they performed together many years ago on stage here in our Australian Country Talent Seekers Quest which used to be held over the long weekend in October.
Thank you again to the band Brian Collits, Craig Manderson, Gary Hollier and Pam Byres.
Just a reminder that as usual there was no muster in October as many committee members have commitments elsewhere.
Of course you won’t miss out with a number of country functions taking place around the region such as the Bedgerebong Country Music campout, Ariah Park Festival, Rosewood Festival, Joe & Pam Reeves Country Music in the Pines and Barry Green appearing at the Parkes Services Club in the downstairs lounge, Michael Green appearing at the Parkes Leagues Club and of course the Baby Boomers Music Festival in Forbes being run by Stephen Cheney.
There will be another Peak Hill Muster on Sunday, November 4, this time being hosted by the Dubbo Orana Club.
All welcome to join in and enjoy a great afternoon with our fellow country music enthusiasts from Dubbo, Parkes, Peak Hill, Wellington and district.
The Parkes & District Country Music Assoc. Inc Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, November 12 at 7.30pm upstairs at the Parkes Services Club.
Membership renewals are now due. Our next monthly muster will be 1pm on Sunday, November 18, in the Starlight Lounge at the Parkes Services Club. Our featured artist will be Barry Green.
Last muster for the year will be our Christmas Charity muster to be held on Saturday, December 15 with a 7.30pm start and an extra special guest appearing for the enjoyment of our younger members and guests.
