Together with Parkes Shire Concert Band and talented students from Red Bend Catholic College, the South Pacific Concert Band will present the Spring into Summer Concert Band Spectacular.
Parkes band members will combine with the Sydney-based band for an evening of popular music and have chosen Saturday, October 27 as the special night.
The event will take place in the Parkes Leagues Club auditorium at 7.30pm.
There will be a great selection of music, including Adele, Michael Jackson, ABBA, Shrek, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Beatles.
Proceeds from door donations and a raffle will go to assist drought-stricken farmers in the area.
In previous years the South Pacific Concert Band has raised a small amount of funds for the Gilgandra Coo-ee Festival and the Forbes flood relief, and this year it will be Parkes to raise a little for drought relief.
The band is also playing at the Parkes Radio Telescope (The Dish) from 11.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 2.30pm on that Saturday (October 27).
All of their performance will also include Parkes Shire Concert Band as well.
The South Pacific Concert Band has been running for about 22 years and has members aged from 10 years old to 86.
They are a community band that rehearses in Belmore, Sydney.
