During the last week of Term 3 Parkes High School was represented by Hannah Potts, Phoebe Potts, Maddy McCormick and Holly McColl at the titles played in Gosford.
The four girls were representing the Western area and the team did very well to home the bronze medal.
It is the first time in almost 20 years that Western has finished in the top three.
But what capped off an incredible achievement for the quartet was that the teenagers had a chance to win gold, with the final results being a three-way tie for the championship.
And the accolades don’t stop there.
Phoebe Potts also gained special recognition at the state titles.
She played some superb tennis during the week and was named in the NSW CHS Merit Team for winning the most matches on her line.
The weather may have hampered proceedings somewhat with an interrupted week of play, but that didn’t stop the Parkes High players from making an impression on the court.
The girls enjoyed their week and are looking forward to next year’s tournament, which will see Hannah and Phoebe Potts complete six-straight years of representing the school, the town and the region.
