The Parkes business awards are only hours away with the 2018 Henry Awards Gala Evening kicking off at 6pm on Friday.
Parkes Chamber of Commerce Secretary Belinda McCorkell said the committee is gearing up for a great night.
“More new businesses have entered this year compared to last,” Belinda said.
“Start-up Superstar – Best Business under two years - and Outstanding Young Entrepreneur are the top categories in terms of entries which is a really good reflection on the economic development in town.
“It also reflects the fact people are still willing to invest in Parkes.”
Two new categories have been added to this year’s program, Excellence in Innovation and Outstanding Young Employee, taking the number of awards to 15.
Belinda said ticket sales are on par with last year and once again the Chamber will be hosting some special guests.
“Member for Orange Philip Donato and his wife Nadia along with Parliamentary Secretary for Western NSW and his wife Geraldine will be joining us,” she said.
“We are also delighted to announce our emcee this year is Anthony Maroon!”
Maroon is a 30-year veteran of the radio industry, having spent most of his time with Triple M as a presenter on various shows.
He also commentates rugby league, calling about 55 games a year, and is part of a Triple M NRL show with Gordy Tallis, Paul Kent and Ryan Girdler.
Local duo Tom and Holly Orr will also help keep guests entertained throughout the evening.
