Myles outstanding effort inspired Colts to a comfortable 47 run victory the scores being:
Parkes 4/252 off 40 overs (Myles Smith 150no, Jack Barker 28, Sam Carty 28no, Paul Carty 16, S Cravin 2/54 off 9) defeated Canowindra 10/205 off 38 overs (M Simmons 64no, Jarrod Nicholson 48, Ben Schaefer 28, Blake Smith 3/42 off 5 overs, Brent Tucker 4/24 off 8 overs and Sam Carty 2/33 off 10 overs).
The Colts team demonstrated that they will be a competitive force in 2018/19 especially taking into account that several of their key players besides Myles Smith demonstrated good early season form.
Brent Tucker put in a fine bowling spell to take 4/24 off 8 overs while Sam Carty, Blake Smith and Jack Barker also preformed well with the ball.
Canowindra player M Simmons played a defiant innings while Jarrod Nicholson and Ben Schaefer would have been pleased with their efforts.
Cowra Valleys score 7 run victory over Cambridge Cats

With the Western Zone Big Bash Carnival taking place on 20/10/2018 the Lachlan Premier Cricket Competition will resume on 27/10/2018 when Canowindra play Cambridge in Canowindra and Cowra Bowling Club play Parkes Colts in Cowra.

Matt Swindle leads Bowling Club to thrilling victory Honey Badgers despite Jacob Foran’s Hat-Trick
Scores being Bowling Club 8/87 in 21.4 overs (Matt Swindle 65, Michael McGrath 7no, Jacob Foran 5/18 off 6 overs including a hat-trick, Chris Orr 3/8 off 4.4 overs) defeated Honey Badgers Cricket Society 10/79 off 19 overs (Matt Spedding 26no, Andrew Pigram 18, Dan Gordon 14, Michael McGrath 4/12 off 4 overs, Adam Parker 2/19 off 4.1 overs, Matt Swindle 2/8 off 4 overs & Nathan Hessel 1/11 off 2 overs).
Bowling Club (4pts) defeated Honey Badgers (1pt) by 8 runs.
In an amazing match Bowling Club after making a disastrous start to their innings when their score stood at 6/17 after 5 overs as Honey Badgers opening bowler Jacob Foran smashed through the early order Bowling Club batting line-up.
Jacob and his team mates were delighted to celebrate the fact that he took a hat-trick to put the Honey Badgers right on top.
Matt Swindle was joined by a determined Michael McGrath for a match winning 7th wicket partnership of 70 runs as Matt took over the Bowling Club attack to thump 7 fours on his way to scoring a dominant 65 runs.
Chris Orr with 3/8 off 4.4 overs turned in a top spell for the Honey Badgers. In reply, Honey Badgers lost wickets at regular intervals to some tight bowling by the Bowling Club attack as Michael McGrath returned the splendid figures of 4/12 off 4 overs to back up his solid batting.
Matt Swindle again demonstrated his ability after returning from a shoulder injury that limited his playing during the 2017/18 season.
Matt Spedding played a valiant 26no to almost bring Honey Badgers victory in a match played in good spirit by both sides.
Railway Pitbulls too Strong for Parkes Hotel Pythons
Parkes Hotel Pythons 10/67 in 20.4 overs (Ryan Smith 11, Gary Dukes-Rankmore 1/3 off 4 overs, Tim Allen 3/29 off 6 overs & Brad Fletcher 2/0 off 4 balls) lost to Railway Pitbulls 7/72 in 22 overs (Nick Parker 18, S Bale 11, Gary Dukes-Rankmore 16, Grant Gaut 2/6 off 3 overs).
Railway Pitbulls (5pts) defeated Parkes Hotel Pythons (0pts) by 3 wickets.

Star Hotel defeat Northparkes by 26 runs in high scoring game
Star Hotel 6/236 in 30 overs (Matt Clarke 87, Andrew Bourke 86, Reuben Bondareff 3/34 off 5 overs) defeated Northparkes 6/210 in 30 overs (Dylan Morgan 106, Jonty Ralph 18, Ian Ward 28no, Corey Rowbotham 15no, Brad Wales 13).
Star Hotel (5pts) defeated Northparkes (0pts) by 26 runs.
The Star Hotel scores in my-cricket were incomplete for this game.
After Reuben Bondareff took some early wickets to put Northparkes in a good position Star Hotel rallied as Matt Clarke and Andrew Bourke batted powerfully to pile on plenty of runs.
Northparkes bowler Jonty Ralph was able to completely demolish the stumps at the bowler’s end as he took a skied catch to take the first wicket of the game.
In reply, Dylan Morgan launched a series of powerfully struck shots to smash boundaries to score a fine innings of 106.
Dylan would be the first to admit that he was assisted by an undermanned Star Hotel team however he should be delighted to notch a century that almost gave his side victory.
Ian Ward and Corey Rowbotham played well as the Star Hotel team eventually gained victory over a keen Northparkes team in a match played in good spirit.
Reedy Creek Raptors defeat Reedy Creek by 3 wickets
Reedy Creek 10/152 in 27.2 overs (Michael Ostler 50, Mitch Stubberfield 26, Lindsay Hughes 17, Craig Chapple 10, Max Keith 2/1 off 2 overs, Joel Cowling 2/31 off 3 overs, Josh Miles 2/31 off 4 overs and Luke Nash 1/8 off 2 overs) lost to Reedy Creek Raptors 7/159 in 26.1 overs (Scott Knights 33no, Max Keith 27no, Israel Symington 35, Ben Coultas 17, Josh Miles 10, Craig Chapple 3/11 off 4 overs, Ryan Dunn 2/15 off 4 overs & Craig Dunn 0/4 off 2 overs).
Raptors (5pts) defeated Reedy Creek (0pts) by 3 wickets.
It took an undefeated 8th wicket partnership off 66 runs between Scott Knights and Max Keith to bring victory for the Raptors after Reedy Creek appeared set for victory.
Earlier in the game the evergreen Michael Ostler top scored with 50 runs to give Reedy Creek a solid total of 152 in 27.2 overs.
It is rumoured that Michael has spent countless hours in the recent school holidays to improve his batting skills.
The hard hitting Israel Symington gave Raptors a good start to their innings after a rampant Craig Chapple took 3/11 off 4 overs.
