Members of the Goldfields Lodge Parkes, along with friends and family, met at the Peak Hill Hospital to present Wor Bro Dick Baxter OAM with his 70th year Certificate in Masonry.

V W Bro Tim Keith very new DGIW District 44, presented Dick with his 70 year certificate.
Dick joined Lodge Jersey No 204 Peak Hill NSW, in July 1948 as a young man, farmer grazier just after he returned from the Second World War.
He served in the RAAF from 1940 to 1945 as radio mechanic in the South Pacific Islands with Beaufort Boomers Squadron.
Dick has continued to serve his Lodge and community to this day.
He progressed through the Offices of Lodge Jersey and became Master in June 1977, and has been Master a number times and was the Secretary Treasurer for number of years until the Lodge closed 26th July 2014.
Also, Dick was very active in the community being involved in the Peak Hill Service Club and RSL Sub Committee, Peak Hill A&H Show, Frazer Court Retirement Village and in resent times the Peak Hill Men's Shed, and serving on the committees.
Dick was especially pleased to have his sons Graham and John and their wives at the presentation.
“The best thing I have done was to join Masonry, the friendship, personal development and encouragement was fantastic and I got a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction,” Dick said.
The Matron and staff of the Peak Hill Hospital were very supportive and helpful pervading afternoon tea and making a cake specially for Dick.
