That’s what you’re going to be feeling come tonight’s Parkes Musical & Dramatic Society’s performance that looks back on it’s most memorable moments while you’re sitting in new state-of-the-art seats.
It couldn’t be a more fitting event to mark the official re-opening of the newly refurbished Little Theatre in Bogan Street.
More than $500,000 has been spent to transform the theatre into a state-of-the-art performance centre, boasting lush new theatre seats, tiered flooring and modern interior design throughout the theatre and foyer spaces.
To celebrate the Society has been in rehearsal for the gala concert that showcases memorable moments from musicals and concerts performed by the Society since the last refurbishment in 2000.
Featuring a hugely talented cast, band and crew of more than 60 members (all had to have been involved in previous productions), Goosebumps features songs from well known musicals such as Annie, Oliver, Grease, Les Miserables, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Joseph, Beauty and the Beast, and some favourites from PACC (charity) concerts such as I don’t know how to love him, Supercalla, Seasons of Love and 14G.
Society president and director of Goosebumps, Lyn Townsend is very excited about this special production.
“Goosebumps is going to be an amazing production. The amount of talent we have involved for this production is second to none I have ever directed,” she said.
“We are very excited about our new theatre and believe Goosebumps is the perfect way to kick off a new era for our Society”.
Show season is limited to six performances only – October 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28. Tickets have been on sale for two weeks and are selling fast.
The theatre has a lower capacity due to the renovations (down from 192 to 175) so it’s important to secure tickets early as they will sell out fast.
If you are mobility impaired, please book in rows A, B or C as all other rows require walking up the rise. If you are in a wheelchair you need to call 0429 623 829 to secure one of the specially designated wheelchair spaces.
