Sponsored by Parkes Golf Club Life Members, the event saw a field of 75 members compete, however the majority could only watch on as Hey and Brown put together a fantastic round.
The pair finished the event, which saw players needing to provide at least six tee shots each, with an excellent score of 60 nett – 11 better than par.
While many groups struggled to come to terms with the recovering greens which werew recently renovated, it was not a problem for Hey and Brown as they recorded a two shot victory over Luke Clarke and Todd Jayet, and Tom Medcalf and Bernie McCabe, who finished on 62 nett.
A half shot further back was Lachlan Buesnell and Mitch McGlashan on 62.5 nett.
John Green and Denis Howard were next on 64.5 nett, followed by Steve Simpson and Vince Kelly on 65.25 nett.
Last of the ball winners were Fine Latu and Brendan Chambers, and Reg Davison and Ian Phipps, both pairings finishing on 66.25 nett.
In the nearest the pins, the sharp-shooters were out in force with none of the winning shots outside of three metres in an impressive display.
Getting the ball rolling was former Parkes Golf Club member who now hales from Melbourne Allan Jewell enjoyed a fortuitous bounce to finish closest on the Idlerite-Tyrepower 1st hole.
His tee shot finished only 225cm from the flag.
Todd Jayet hit a fine shot into the Griffins Leading Edge 4th hole.
He claimed both the nearest the pin and the money hole award with his shot to 260cm.
Laurie Wakefield would have been pleased to find his ball only 210cm from the cup on the Dirt Doctor Landscaping 6th hole.
Tim Lasserre finished closest on the Harvey Norman 11th hole at 272cm.
Despite having to carry his team, Duncan Constable still had enough juice left in the tank when he arrived at the Westlime 15th hole.
Constable hit a very good tee shot to only 255cm, helping his pairing secure a much needed birdie.
Known for his solid ball striking, it was no surprise to see Ken Cobcroft finish closest with his approach into the Parkes Readymixed Concrete 9th hole.
Cobcroft had a good look at a birdie from 210cm away.
Luke Clarke made the most of a good tee shot to nearly hole out his approach into the Central West Glass 18th hole.
Clarke made light work of the final hole to tap in for birdie from only 50cm away.
This Saturday, members will compete in an 18 hole Irish team stableford sponsored by Paul Thomas and Ken Ryan.
