Hosted by the Forbes Crocs Running and Triathlon Club, runners from throughout the Central West are expected to converge on Forbes for the festival on Sunday, October 14.
There’s a run to suit everyone, from the kids, the enthusiast and the serious runner with three distances on offer.
Runners can sign up for a 5km run, 10km run or the more challenging 21km half marathon.
All ages can take part in any of the runs and there are prize divisions for juniors and adults.
Online registrations are now live on the Forbes Crocs Running and Triathlon’s website https://www.forbesrunningandtriclub.com/
Organisers are encouraging runners to register now.
Event organiser Ian Bown said they’ve had a good amount of entries across all three runs, but he is encouraging more locals to sign up for one of the runs.
Participants can register individually, however in the 5km event families can register together.
Online registrations close at midnight on Saturday, October 13.
To participate in the 21km half marathon, you must register online before registrations close.
Mr Bown said that you can register for the 5km and 10k on the morning of the event, though it would be easier for organisers if entrants were to register online.
Mr Bown said the Forbes Running Festival start and finish line is located at the ski dam.
All of the running courses are set to take participants on the walkway around picturesque Lake Forbes.
The fun begins early with the 21km Half Marathon commencing at 7am.
The 10 km run commences at 8.30am and the starters gun for the 5 km run fires at 8.45am.
Mr Bown advises that all participants should arrive well before the scheduled time of their run.
The event, along with five other running festivals in the region, forms part of the NSW Regional Distance Running Championships.
The Forbes Crocs Running and Triathlon Club are also looking for general volunteers and volunteer marshals to help the event run smoother.
If you would like to volunteer contact Ian Bown on 0419 436 693 or at Bown’s Sportspower.
