Small Business Month is an initiative of the NSW Government that incorporates events and workshops throughout the month of October.
The events and workshops are designed to help small business owners improve their productivity, grow their business, and engage with other businesses striving for similar goals.
Owners and operators in the Parkes Shire can take part in a number of free localised events and workshops where they will gain valuable and innovative tools to take their business to the next level.
The events will take place between October 1 and 31, and will be hosted by a range of organisations.
The organisations include CenWest Innovate, Department of Industry, Parkes Chamber of Commerce and Parkes Shire Council.
“Thank you to the NSW Department of Industry for their funding and support in delivering these workshops and initiatives,” Parkes Shire Councillor, and Parkes Business Chamber representative Alan Ward said.
“Small Business Month is a great opportunity to learn about the latest marketing trends and digital tools, hear from leading experts on the art and science of mutually-beneficial negotiation, find out how to use census data to support your business, and receive face-to-face advice on how to start, grow or innovate your business model.
Cr Ward said a highlight of Small Business Month will be The Henry’s Business Awards and its gala dinner on Friday, October 19 at the Parkes Services Club.
“[This is] where our local business community will come together to celebrate innovation, entrepreneurship and why it all adds up for business in the Parkes region,” he said.
“This is also a chance to connect with like-minded people and be inspired by local business success stories.”
Business owners, operators and staff are encouraged to get involved in the following Small Business Month activities:
