The Raptors were rightful favourites, beating Off The Rails convincingly in the major semi to be the first team to advance through.
The grand final commenced with both teams probing for weakness but failing to put the ball in the net early on.
Twenty minutes in and Raptors pounced on a defensive error with a strong strike from the top of the goal box, resulting in a goal.
Half time score remained 1-0 to the Raptors.
The struggle intensified in the second half when a fine individual goal to the Railway’s Grace Osborne brought the score to 1-1.
The seeming to lift Railway who started to show some dominance.
A brilliant save of a penalty shot by Railway keeper Melissa Rowe kept the scores locked together.
With eight minutes to play, a great corner kick by Jodie found the head of Marni Owens to take the score to 2-1.
As the whistle sounded the Railway girls were overjoyed by the victory.
Ladies’ B Grade
The two sides competing in this year’s B Grade decider were the Tichborne Tigers and Forbes Fury.
It was a battle between the very experience Tigers outfit, who played in last year’s A Grade final, and the new kids on the block Fury in their debut season.
Tigers controlled the tempo of the game in the first half, fustrating the young Fury attackers on many occasions.
Their experience shone through, going into the half time break 2-0 up.
Fury fought on into the 30 minutes with their younger legs, creating numerous opportunities.
But it was the Tigers who scored next to take the score to 3-0 with 10 minutes to go.
That was how the score remained at full time.
A great season for players both young and old.
Under 17s grand final
In a close-fought competition where any of the four sides could take it out, it was Parkes Glory and FC that advanced to the grand final.
In what turned out to be the tightest and best game of the season, it was Glory who scored first, with a hard drive at goal by Hayden Clark fending off a defender to beat the keeper.
The game went from end to end with FC player Jacob Fredricks the next to score with an excellent shot.
The half time score of 1-1 represented the closeness of the battle.
Glory changed tactics with the wind at their backs and started to play the ball high and wide.
Glory striker Rebecca Smith and winger Pascal Berry started to find some room, with the two combining to score an excellent goal to Berry.
Glory held onto their lead, with strong defence from centre back Maisy Osborne and keeper Ryan Dunn keeping the fast-finishing FC at bay.
Under 12s grand final
In the strong Under 12s division, it was Olympic and United that won their way through to the grand final.
Both teams threw everything into the contest, which became locked together at 1-1 at the break.
The tension continued into the second stanza, with Olympic edging in front to take the game 2-1 in an excellent display of junior soccer.
