In last Saturday’s fourball best ball stableford sponsored by Landmark, 44 points was only enough to win the last ball award.
Some very good scoring saw Brian McGee and Mick Horan win by a single point – with a score of 50 points!
Two teams finished with 49 points, Tim Burke and Warren Blatch finishing second over John Pearce and Tom Delmenico courtesy of a countback.
Mick DellaCa and Glen Buesnell were next on 48 points, followed by Cody Hando and Jake Hodge also on 48.
Next were Riall Harrison and Mick Kable with a solid 45 points.
Last of the ball winners was Mark Kelly and Jarrod Kemp on 44 points.
A usually very respectable score of 37 points finished second last in Saturday’s competition.
In the nearest the pins, Andrew Prescott finished closest on the Idlerite-Tyrepower 1st hole.
His tee shot finished 424cm from the flag.
Victor Gaidzionis won the award on the Griffins Leading Edge 4th hole.
Gaidzionis left himself a makeable birdie putt from only 175cm.
Luke Clarke would had mixed feelings after his tee shot on the Dirt Doctor Landscaping 6th hole.
Clarke hit his tee shot very close, only 1.7cm from the cup.
While he would have been happy about a tap in birdie, Clarke would have agonised over coming so close to a hole-in-one.
Mick DellaCa enjoyed success on the Harvey Norman 11th hole.
His tee shot to 26cm was good enough to win the nearest the pin and to also claim the money hole award.
The Westlime 15th was a tough green to hit on Saturday.
Riall Harrison claimed the nearest the pin prize with a tee shot to 2380cm.
Andrew Huntly hit the best approach into the Parkes Readymixed Concrete 9th hole.
His approach to 620cm was enough to win the prize.
Tim Burke’s approach to the Central West Glass was a decent amount closer, finishing only 66cm from the cup.
There is a change in the programmed competition this Saturday.
The event will now be the fourball best ball, aggregate then multiplier sponsored by Mick Craft and Peter Dixon.
The first six holes are best ball, the middle six holes are aggregate (add scores together) and the final six holes are multiplier (multiply the scores together).
It is a fun event with a good field expected.
