Quinn has been selected in the final squad for the 2018 NSW Country U13 Boys State Team.
Along with 16 other boys from around the state, he will represent NSW in the Boys National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour from September 24 to 28.
Quinn attended three camps at Valentines Sports Park in Glenwood as part of the selection process for the squad.
“The first one was training, the second one we played seven games, as well as trained,” he said.
“We played Newcastle Jets, Western Sydney Wanderers, Central Coast Mariners and Sydney FC for trial games when we were in camp.”
Over the three camps 40 boys were whittled down to 17.
“I’m happy to be selected,” Quinn said.
“I really enjoyed the camps.”
The tournament allows Quinn to play at the national level against the best players from across the country representing their respective states and territories.
It serves as a primary talent identification opportunity for NSW representative teams and the FFA various National Teams.
Quinn plays for Western Mariners, along with players from Orange, Bathurst, Lithgow, Dubbo and Cowra.
The team finished second on the ladder, their season coming to an end in the sudden death finals.
“We travel to Orange twice a week for training and our home games are in Lithgow, Bathurst, Mudgee and Orange. Alternate weekend games are played in Sydney,” Quinn said.
With his sights set on bigger things to come, Quinn said he is aiming for nationals when he is Under 15s.
“From those National Championships there is a selection process for Joeys, which tour outside of the country representing Australia.”
