“The early bird tickets for the Elvis Express sold out within 15 minutes,” Parkes Elvis Festival director Cathy Treasure told the large crowd present for the festival launch on Monday.

The 2019 Parkes Elvis Festival was officially launched at the Parkes Motor Museum, where the 2019 program was unveiled, as was the festival’s travel options.
The regional train service, the Blue Suede Express – the luxury heritage passenger train, the Blue Zephyr, with onboard entertainment which rolled into Parkes for the first time last year – will return with the popular Elvis Express.

Ms Treasure said they are further increasing transport for guests and are working with other towns throughout the region.
"Once again we’re teaming up with Forbes, Cowra, Orange and possibly Dubbo to do shuttles to and from so our guests can stay in motels throughout the region and I guess spread the love economically throughout the Central West,” she said.
“Two trains and two coaches went on sale [on Monday] morning.”
Regional Express Airlines (REX) is back on board with the Priscilla Plane, which also made its first appearance last year.
“We’re really excited about this, we launched [it] last year. This will be the second year and already we’re getting a lot of inquiries with this one,” Ms Treasure said.
And she predicts it won’t take long for the Priscilla Plane to book-out either.
Ms Treasure also announced that ARTC (Australian Rail Track Corporation) has signed on for three years to support the festival.
And there is a new website for the Parkes Elvis Festival, which will be launched at the end of September.
