After three meetings, they were not successful in forming a committee to organise and run the Irish Festival in 2019.
It was moved ‘that at this stage the Tullamore Irish Festival in its traditional format will not be held in 2019’.
The Festival has been a successful event for 15 years providing funds to various community groups in Tullamore and much needed equipment for community organisations to use at events.
Over this time the Irish Festival has attracted many visitors to the town and to the Parkes Shire.
Chairman of the 2018 Festival Paul Stanbrook said organisers would like to thank locals and visitors for their valued support, patronage and loyalty.
“We hope we can continue to build on this in the future,” Mr Stanbrook said.
“Bringing community together has been so important to us at the festival and these yearly celebrations embraced all of what was envisioned when creating the festival.”
The community is looking forward to developing new and innovative ideas for future town event.
