Under 10’s
Andrew Thomas Builder Under 10s had a disappointing result on Saturday when they lost 10 -12 to Red Bend.
Under 12’s
K & H Earthmoving Under 12s went down on the weekend after a tough game against Red Bend on Saturday 12 - 8.
Senior League Tag
Bob Skinner Painting and Decorating sponsored Senior League Tag girls lost on Saturday against Red Bend 16 – 8 seeing the end of their season. The Senior League Tag team finish third in the 2018 Competition, a fantastic effort, well done girls!
Under 14’s
Sportspower Under 14’s fought a hard tough game on Saturday against Red Bend.
The boys played some of the best defense seen all season.
Parkes opened the scoreboard after plenty of ball passing down the line followed by a big stretch from Bayden Moran as he reached over the line. Conversion was unsuccessful.
A Parkes error gave Red Bend the ball. Defense was outstanding with Jackson Parker-Lee, Tyler Yeo, Austin MacGregor, Jai Thompson and Bayden Moran making tackle after tackle. Another fumbled ball saw Red Bend with possession and Parkes defending the try line again.
Alex DeLacy, Toby Miller, Dustin James, Kaid Lydford, and Charlie Oraha worked together with the other boys to hold Red Bend out, push them back over the line and hold them up ensuring that set after set they didn’t score.
After a long 10 minutes of attack from Red Bend they managed to score and convert giving them the lead. Parkes gained possession from a Red bend kick that went out. Charlie Mahon set the run off.
A head high tackle gave Parkes another set of six. Brian Mendoza continued the run and ball passing down the line put Bayden in perfect position to see a gap and score. Kaid Lydford successfully converted and gave Parkes the lead 10 – 6.
Richard Butt-Anderson took the field to assisting attack. Red Bend had the ball again as Dylan Woods joined the pack in defense.
Red Bend continually put pressure on Parkes and eventually scored giving them the lead 12 -10 at half-time.
Red Bend started the second half with possession. Kade Crisp and Mac Rauchle tackled strong on their side.
Mason Leedham and Jake Herring joined the tackling team as the boys were able to hold Red Bend in their half but the attack proved too much and gaps began to show in Parkes defense.
Red Bend found put three tries on the board with successful conversions in the last ten minutes of the game.
The boys tackled to the end, their performance as a team was outstanding with all players giving their all. Bad luck boys, but well done on placing third for the 2018 Season.
Under 16’s
Brian Collins Smash Repairs Under 16s won their game on Saturday against Forbes 28 -22. This win sees them through to the Grand final this Saturday against Red Bend at Forbes. Good luck to the boys!
