The global Fun Palaces movement believes in the genius in everyone, in everyone an artist and everyone a scientist, and that creativity in community can change the world for the better.
Parkes Branch Librarian, Andrea Lovell, is excited to be opening the library doors again for a day of science, play, art, music and games.
“A huge day of small and large events are planned, with the first family event, Adventure Quest, commencing at 9.30am,” Andrea said.
To join “Adventure Quest” all families need is a little imagination.
This interactive show based on the ideals in the “Choose Your Own Adventure” books includes music, storytelling, drama and dance in one all-inclusive show!
Adventure Quest will be on again at 11am if the 9.30am timeslot is to early for you.
Bookings are required for these free shows.
Throughout the day the Library will be filled with hands on activities, families can create, make and experience together.
This will include fingerprinting, dancing ballerinas, pet storytime, a community art collage, sausage sizzle and more…
Plenty of LOUD fun
At 1pm the LOUD fun begins with a Trash Percussion workshop.
Anything and everything can be used as a musical instrument and everyone can play music.
Kids aged eight and older can book for this music workshops being hosted by Ian from FunDayOut.

"We love Fun Palace. We get to spend time with families in our community exploring, creating and making mess!
“We invite you to join us for the day," said Library Officer Debbie Gould.
All the activities are set up, instructions supplied.
