This can lead to multiple preventable health issues and constant pain including toothaches, cavities and gum disease.
The Baker Dental Group are seeing this up close, and whilst many local businesses are making generous donations and getting behind the growing effort to raise funds to assist the farming community, the Parkes dental practice has come up with a unique way of helping local farmers.
Dentist Dr Daniel Terranova said so many farmers are doing it really tough at the moment and the team want to help them in their hour of need.
“At the moment our farmers are isolated from services they need such as proper health and dental care because of a lack of finances and an inability to travel so it’s important we do what we can to help,” he said.
Every Friday for the month of September, the Baker Dental Group will be offering primary producers free dental examinations including x-rays.
Additionally, primary producers who are members of health funds will have any out-of-pocket expenses waived for dental cleans and fluoride treatment.
A collection bin can also be found at the reception desk whereby money collected will go to the Buy a Bale campaign which raises money to buy hay, water and groceries for farmers.
The dental surgery can be contacted on (02) 6862 1391 for an appointment.
