Hosted by the Parkes Sub-Branch of the RSL, the event was part of the nation’s Vietnam Veterans day commemorations, which also marked the 52nd anniversary of the battle of Long Tan.
Parkes RSL Sub-Branch president Terry Knowles said the day was important on the club’s calendar.
“It is important to recognise the service of all of those men and women who served during the conflict and honour the sacrifices they made including local residents Captain Anatoly Danilenko, Corporal Denis Donnelly and Private Douglas Powter who lost their lives during the war,” he said.
“The day is growing in popularity within the Parkes community and while we would have liked to see more people turn up for the event, there are more people here than last year which is a promising sign.”
