Bowls
Number two Pennants teams: Our No.2 Pennants team did us all proud on the weekend but sadly did not get through the preliminary rounds. On Friday we suffered a fairly heavy loss to a very professional side from Raymond Terrace.
We had a good win against Sawtell on the Saturday morning and played very well on Saturday afternoon but went down narrowly to Northmead, losing 45-51. Northmead went on to the finals but were beaten by Ocean Shores.
It was a great achievement getting to the State Finals and here’s hoping we can go one better next year. Congratulations to all the members who played Pennants in all three grades this year and I’m sure they would join me in saying thank you to the Selectors who do a great (but tough) job throughout the season.
Also many thanks to the three team managers, Liz Pat and Gwenda, who put in a lot of time and effort to ensure that things run smoothly on the days we play. Social Bowls, Thursday, August 16.
