What may seem like a fun and lighthearted contest is actually a fierce competition with some amazing machines, the result of months of hard work, that can lead one lucky racer to glory, prize money and most importantly 12 months of bragging rights.
With five pages of rules and guidelines, the races are design to be fun both for entrants and spectators, while keeping everyone safe.
There will be a wide range of entries from stock, standard mowers through to heavily modified machines, with some entrants spending the last year building and testing their mowers in the quest for peak performance come show day.

Potential competitors are urged to make sure they read the competition guidelines to ensure that their mower adheres to all necessary compliance rulings.
Competition organiser Steve Chester said that everyone was looking forward to the races. “It’s always a blast to get the big boys toys out for some fun. We’ve got locals entering, we’ve got people coming from Forbes, Cumnock and Peak Hill to race so there should be plenty of good, close competition,” he said.
The lawn mower racing will be held on Wednesday, August 29 at 8pm with the winner taking out the $250 first prize. Nominations need to be in, along with the entry fee, by 4pm that day.
