July Muster – with featured artist Cheryl Simpson from Dubbo accompanied by Tony Dess on keyboard provided to be another very successful afternoon.
Cheryl is an active member of the Orana CMA and a well experienced singer with a great variety of songs in her repertoire.
Tony is also an active member and committee person of the Orana CMA and he too is a well experienced and working performer.
We sincerely thank them for attending our Muster to entertain us. Hopefully we can entice them back on another occasion.
Other performers for the day included Craig Manderson, Barry Joseph, and Gary Hollier from Dubbo: Narelle Sellick – Temora, Ken Chalker and Joy Rice from Cowra. Bruce Toole – Forbes; Lindy and Jock Charlton – Parkes; Robert Charlton and his young daughters Sarah, Hayley and Caleah Charlton from Peak Hill and ten year old Annabelle Van Wyk from Alectown; and Dale Cowell from Parkes and Narelle Sellick Temora teamed up for a duet.
Our backing band was once again a blend of Dubbo, Parkes and Forbes members, Gary Hollier, Craig Manderson, Brian Collits, Robert Charlton and Lindy Charlton with Joy Rice from Cowra on sound, Dale Cowell capably handling the compering and John De Dobbelaor managing the stage.
Some years ago Kate was a participant in our own Parkes Country Music Festival but most well known to members for her appearances at the Bungendore Muster almost since its inception.
Bob won the New Talent Award at this year’s Bungendore Muster with a song ‘The Ghost of Old Ben Hall’.
It’s great to have country singer/musicians of this calibre entertain us and the good news is that they have just made the move from Queensland to settle in our local area, so we’re hoping to see much more of them.
